m-Stop brake light modulator from motogadget
The m-Stop from motogadget is an adjustable digital brake light controller for increasing road safety. Pulsating brake lights are already used in many luxury class vehicles. By flashing the brake lights, the standard brake light becomes a conspicuous warning light (various flash modes are available). The traffic behind reacts faster and is better able to recognise when the motorcycle is braking. Reaction times are shorter and so may even prevent rear-end collisions, an important safety feature for all two-wheelers, who are easily overlooked. Custom bikes often use small, hidden reverse and brake lights, which further limits visibility. An ideal application for the m-Stop! In addition, the m-Stop can also be used as a normal flasher relay or as a flasher relay with automatic switch-off (see below). Characteristics as a brake light controller:
Ultra small and light, only one cable with a tiny device the size of a piece of candy
Can be routed almost anywhere e.g. in handle bar, frame tubing or in the cable harness
6 different light/blink variants adjustable for brake light
almost load-independent
suitable for almost all LED brake lights and all conventional brake light lamps
Super easy connection via two cables only - simply connect in series
Short circuit proof, automatic overload protection
Generates no heat during operation
Also suitable for 6V brake lights
Watertight and vibration resistant
Quality 'made in Germany' - from motogadget
As a brake light modulator, the m-Stop offers 6 different settings: 1. Normal mode (no flashing, direct transmission) 2. Rise and fall at 3 Hz 3. Flashing at 5 Hz 4. Flashing 8 times at 5 Hz, then continuous illumination 5. Flashing 2 times at 5 Hz, then 1 sec. continuous illumination and again repeat 6. 3 sec. transmission, then flashing at 5 Hz
Circuit diagram for the typical m-Stop connection as a brake light modulator:
Characteristics as an electronic flasher relay without automatic switch-off (like m-Flash):
almost load-independent (min. 1 W) - constant flashing rate always
suitable for almost all LED flashers, all micro-flashers, 10 watt bulbs, 21 watt bulbs, etc.
Ideal for custom bikes and modifications with limited space - no clumsy standard relay
Works with 4 signal lights or 2 handlebar end flashers, etc.
Super easy connection via two cables only - simply connect in series
Also suitable for 6V flashers
Can also be used as an electronic flasher relay with automatic switch-off! Great safety feature! As a flasher unit with automatic switch-off, the m-Stop automatically switches the flashers off after 20 seconds. Accidental continuous flashing never again!
Instructions for using as a flasher relay with or without automatic switch-off: a) The m-Stop replaces a conventional flasher relay. This flasher relay normally sits BEFORE the flasher switch viewed in the circuit. If the m-Stop is also used BEFORE the flasher switch, you also need only ONE m-Stop. You would only need two m-Stops if used AFTER the flasher switch. Thus one module for each flasher circuit (left/right). Of course, this is also possible. Please compare to the following circuit diagram. The easiest option to install the m-Stop is to find the original relay and simply replace it with the m-Stop.
b) The m-Stop cannot replace the button control unit when using pure push button controls.
c) For newer Harley-Davidson™ models, the flashers are controlled by a special module (TSM/TSSM). The m-Stop cannot replace or supplement these modules.
